Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris says the choice of white actor Joseph Fiennes to play the part of her late father has made her “want to vomit”. She expressed her anger about the decision on social media.
Award winning actor Mr Fiennes has been handed the part of the superstar for the upcoming comedy programme Urban Myths, in which his character will head off on an imaginary road trip along with the actors Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando.
Eighteen year old Paris said she was incredibly offended by the choice and she was sure many other people were too, adding that it made her feel physically sick. She added: “It angers me to see how obviously intentional it was for them to be this insulting, not just towards my father, but my godmother Liz as well. Where is the respect? they worked through blood sweat and tears for ages to create such profound and remarkable legacies. shameful portrayal.”
In further tweets, she said that her Thriller singer father, who died as a result of a drugs overdose eight years ago, had been perfect, saying that any perceived flaws had been a fabrication by the media.
Her comments follow accusations in the early Nineties that he was a child sex abuser. That case was eventually settled out of court for an amount which was not disclosed and no charges were ever brought. Jackson was, however, then tried of further allegations two years later, and danced on his car on the day he was arraigned.
Then, he was cleared of four counts of lewd conduct with a child under the age of 14 along with a count of attempted lewd conduct, four counts of administering alcohol in a bid to facilitate child molestation and another of conspiracy to commit child abduction, false imprisonment or extortion.
